Staying fit is important - Nakathila
Jeremiah 'Low-Key' Nakathila says staying fit - even when you have no fights booked - is an important aspect of a boxer’s life. The Namibian fighter often shares videos of his continuous training on his social media platforms.
“As boxers, we often go through a lengthy period without a fight and that sometimes gets to the mind. I, however, always do my best to keep training and pushing hard because a fight can come any time.
“That is why I want to use this platform to motivate Namibian boxers to keep fit, even when days are tough.
“I have learnt that your body has to be at its best at all times because it makes it easier for you to get ready when a fight is on the cards,” Nakathila said.
The 33-year-old last fought in May when he was defeated by Raymond Muratalla in Las Vegas in the United States of America.
Back-to-back victories
The boxer currently holds a record of 26 fights in his professional career.
He has won 23, with 19 coming by knockout, while losing three.
Born in Uukwanangaya, Nakathila burst on the scene in 2013 when he beat David Shinuna in his first professional fight.
He went on to win 11 fights back to back before suffering his first professional career defeat in 2016.
The defeat did not dampen his spirits, though - he went on to win 10 more back-to-back fights.
Having been away from action for the last three months, Nakathila has hinted at a fight in the next two months.
“One can never know when your next fight is, but I believe that it could be around October.
“We have a good professional promoter and we always trust in his abilities to secure us fight,” he said.
