Clay target shooters to the fore at second trial

The Namibian Clay Target Association's second trial for the 2025 shooting season was a resounding success last weekend, with 14 talented shooters in attendance, including two promising juniors. The event at the Lichtenstein Shooting range, 20 km west of Windhoek, showcased a spirited competition and highlighted the skill and dedication of all participants.
Francois Jooste emerged as the High Gun of the day, securing first place with an impressive performance. Closely behind was Gielie van Wyk, who claimed second place, while Frank Dahl rounded out the top three.
Both Jooste and Van Wyk achieved the minimum qualification score (112 out of 125) in their results over five rounds in two days, demonstrating their exceptional shooting abilities.
Final standings of the High Gun category: 1 Francois Jooste, 2 Gielie van Wyk, 3 Frank Dahl, 4 Theo Senekal, 5 Mark Rusch, 6 Hendrik Roos.
