The executive board of Africa Netball convened a special board meeting on the evening of Tuesday to deliberate on the ongoing matter concerning the provisional suspension of president Cecilia Molokwane.

Following thorough discussions, the board unanimously agreed to appoint Netball Namibia president Rebekka Goagoses as the acting president of Africa Netball with immediate effect. Goagoses has been entrusted with ensuring continuity and stability in leadership during this transitional period.

Africa Netball remains resolute in its support for president Molokwane during this process and recognises her invaluable contributions to the growth and development of netball across the continent.

Following the appointment of the acting president, the board convened an urgent meeting with council members to formally communicate this decision and to garner their support. The board calls upon all members and stakeholders to unite in their backing of both president Cecilia Molokwane and acting president Rebekka Goagoses, as they each continue to fulfil their respective roles in line with the organisation’s values.
