Imperial Ruby and Bin Laden reigns supreme

Imperial Ruby of Okahandja Racing was crowned champion of the JSBbet Independence Cup in the 2000m Import A-Division, held in Okahandja on Saturday.Ruby started the last race of the day in fine form and crossed the finish line in emphatic fashion, going neck and neck with Woodland Ridge. Despite an incredible effort on the turf, Woodland Ridge of Junius Racing had to settle for second place. Veteran horse Starlile of Okahandja Racing secured third in what was a highly competitive race.
In the 2000m Nambred D-Division, Bina Laden of Professors Supporters Club emerged victorious, reaffirming the dominance of horses from that club. Boma of Harambe Racing finished second, while Prince, also of Professors Supporters Club, claimed third place.
Namibia Horseracing Association spokesperson Chantel Mouton hailed the event as a success.
“I must say this was a splendid day with an incredible atmosphere. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this a success. The next event will be in Otjinene, and I hope to see you all there,” Mouton said.
The event’s main sponsor, JSBbet, also expressed satisfaction with how the Khomas Turf Club organized the competition.
Jevon Wilson of JSBbet, an avid horse racing enthusiast, was delighted with the day’s proceedings.
“At JSBbet, we are very excited to be here. I personally enjoyed the races because I am a big fan of horse racing events. This was a fantastic day at the Okahandja racing turf, and one can only applaud the organizers for making it a success,” Wilson said.
In the 1800m Import D-Division, Song of Angels of the Ephat Racing Club secured victory. Khomas Turf Club’s Wondering Star claimed second place, while Mr Aminius finished third.
The event featured a total of 16 races, with the main attractions being the 1800m and 2000m competitions.
