Nedbank for Good Series expands
Golf
The 2025 Nedbank for Good Series is set to tee off on 8 March at Omeya Golf Club, marking another year of impactful fundraising for Agra ProVision. This esteemed tournament continues its mission of supporting local communities, with proceeds benefiting Agra ProVision, a division of Agra Limited dedicated to professional training and capacity development in Namibia’s agricultural sector.Strengthening Agricultural Development
In 2024, the Nedbank for Good Series raised an impressive N$250,000 for Agra ProVision, enabling the organisation to enhance the knowledge and skills of various stakeholders, including producers, service providers, development agents, and policymakers. The funding facilitated training and advisory services across key areas such as business planning, infrastructure advisory services, farm assessments, and feasibility studies.
Between January and February 2025, Agra ProVision conducted training sessions in Groot Aub, Mariental, Gobabis, and Oshakati, with over 80 participants benefiting from expert guidance. A notable initiative was the Oshakati training session, where Agra ProVision collaborated with the National Disability Council of Namibia to include trainees with physical disabilities and partial visual impairments. This inclusive approach underscores Agra ProVision’s commitment to providing opportunities for all Namibians, with sessions covering essential topics in free-range poultry and horticulture production, led by experienced agricultural specialists.
Tournament Expansion to Reach More Players
This year’s Nedbank for Good Series features an expanded lineup, with three new venues added to the roster—Okahandja, Grootfontein, and Outjo—bringing the total number of events to 13 across Namibia. Series organiser Dan Zwiebel expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, highlighting the opportunity to engage more golf players and communities.
“We are incredibly excited to expand the reach of the Nedbank for Good Series by adding Okahandja, Grootfontein, and Outjo to the calendar. These new locations allow us to welcome more participants and strengthen community engagement. Each venue offers unique challenges, and we look forward to how this expansion enhances the tournament experience,” said Zwiebel.
Nedbank Namibia’s Commitment to Community Support
Nedbank Namibia has long demonstrated its dedication to community development, and the continuation of this tournament aligns with its broader mission of making a positive impact.
“At Nedbank Namibia, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back,” stated Biniam Ghirmatsion, Executive for Wealth Management and Bancassurance at Nedbank Namibia. “As money experts who do good, partnering with Agra ProVision for a second year allows us to continue making a meaningful impact while fostering connections among our clients, employees, and local businesses.”
