Namibia Wildlife Resort (NWR) has announced a sponsorship collaboration with Kaizen Football Academy (KFA), aimed at supporting and developing young football talents in Namibia.

Yesterday’s announcement was made at the Eros Girls School football field, KFA's training ground. Nelson Ashipala, manager for corporate communications at NWR, emphasized the company's commitment to sports initiatives.

“NWR's sponsorship and corporate investment rest on three pillars, and sports is one of them, alongside education. So, when we got approached by the club to say, 'Look, we are going to partake in a tournament coming up and we need sponsorship’. NWR said, ‘let's come on board and let's see what we can do’.”

Kaizen Football Academy focuses on nurturing young talent through structured training and competitive opportunities. The collaboration with NWR will provide essential resources such as training kits and soccer balls, crucial for the development of young players.

"When we sat down, I think it was a no-brainer. Academies such as this, this is where dreams are realized and this is where the country's future sportsmen are made," Ashipala added.

NWR's support extends beyond equipment; it includes financial backing to ensure that young talents have the necessary tools and financial means to pursue their dreams.

"Going forward, I think we've also seen the rising academies and their needs and their aspirations, and where they want to be. So we are saying NWR will continue committing to such initiatives," Ashipala emphasized.

James Britz, coach of Kaizen Football Academy, noted the challenges in getting everyone aligned with the same goals in Namibia and the importance of platforms like the Namibian Newspaper Cup for selecting top talent. The collaboration with NWR is seen as a critical step in addressing such challenges and fostering the growth of football in Namibia.
