On Saturday, the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing & Fitness Academy will host an exciting night of professional boxing at the Windhoek Country Club & Resort.

The event, dubbed the “Your Vote Counts Boxing Bonanza”, promises to deliver thrilling entertainment as Namibia’s finest fighters take on regional opponents across various weight classes.

Headlining the evening, unbeaten Paulinus “John John” Ndjonimus will go toe-to-toe with Ghana’s Abubakar Mubarak for the WBO Africa super middleweight title.

Another of the academy’s prominent unbeaten prospects – Mateus “The Beast” Heita – is set to face Zimbabwe’s Tatenda Biningu for the coveted WBO Africa featherweight title.

At a press conference yesterday, the two headliners exchanged bold words. Mubarak, speaking with confidence, said: “I know he has a good record, but I have fought people stronger than him and won, so I believe in myself and I can get the job done.”

His opponent Ndjolonimus, currently fourth on WBO super middleweight world rankings, was equally assertive, responding: “The media should make sure to ask Mubarak if he is okay after the fight, because I promise I am going to beat him. I hope you have paid-up medical aid.”

Former world-class contender Jeremiah Nakathila will also light up the under-card when he crosses paths against Tafadzwa Mushando from Zimbabwe.

The “Your Vote Counts Boxing Bonanza” is set to be a night of intense match-ups as Namibia’s emerging stars look to prove their dominance. With national pride and WBO Africa titles on the line, fans can expect explosive action and high-stakes drama.
